Assistant Store Incharge

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Incharge in day-to-day store operations

• Receive, inspect, and verify materials, tools, and equipment as per PO / challans

• Maintain accurate stock records in ERP / registers (GRN, issue, return)

• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and identification of materials

• Issue materials to departments as per approved Material Requisition Slips (MRS)

• Monitor inventory levels and support stock planning to avoid shortages or overstocking

• Conduct periodic stock verification / physical inventory

• Maintain FIFO / LIFO practices as applicable

• Coordinate with procurement, QA/QC, production, and site teams

• Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping (5S) standards

• Handle material returns, scrap, and surplus items properly

• Maintain documentation for inward, outward, and stock movement

• Support audits by providing required store records and reports

• Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the Store Incharge immediately

Required Skills

• Knowledge of storekeeping and inventory control

• Basic understanding of engineering / industrial materials

• Familiarity with ERP systems / MS Excel

• Attention to detail and accountability
