An HVAC Estimation Engineer
analyzes project blueprints, specifications, and client requirements to develop accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, and tenders for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. They prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQs), source supplier pricing, and calculate labor/material costs to ensure profitable project bids.
Core Responsibilities
Tender Preparation: Review client specifications, drawings, and technical documents to prepare comprehensive HVAC cost estimates and proposals.
Material Take-off & BOQ: Generate detailed material lists (ductwork, air outlets, piping, units) and Bills of Quantities for accurate pricing.
Cost Analysis: Calculate total project costs including labor, equipment, materials, shipping, and installation, maintaining up-to-date vendor pricing.
Vendor/Subcontractor Management: Solicit quotes from suppliers and negotiate pricing to optimize cost efficiency.
Technical Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to align estimates with design-build requirements.
Site Surveys: Perform site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to understand project constraints.
