Hotel Receptionist – Job Responsibilities
A Hotel Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests and is responsible for providing excellent customer service while ensuring smooth front desk operations.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
Handle guest check-in and check-out efficiently.
Answer phone calls, emails, and guest inquiries.
Manage room reservations, cancellations, and modifications.
Verify guest identity and process payments.
Maintain accurate guest records in the hotel management system.
Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure room readiness.
Assist guests with requests, complaints, and special arrangements.
Provide information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation.
Handle cash, credit card transactions, and prepare daily reports.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and presentable.
Follow hotel policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality standards.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Required Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with hotel booking software.
Good problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Basic English communication skills (additional languages are an advantage).
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Graduate (Hotel Management preferred).
0–2 years of experience in hospitality or customer service (freshers can also apply).
Experience with hotel PMS software (such as Opera, IDS, or eZee) is an added advantage.
