Dental Assistant – Job Description

Position: Dental Assistant
Department: Dental/Clinical
Location: Convent Dental, Bangalore
Experience: 0–2 years / Experienced candidates preferred

Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly, responsible, and organized Dental Assistant to support the dentist during clinical procedures and ensure smooth patient care and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during dental procedures and treatments.

• Prepare the dental chair, instruments, materials, and treatment room before procedures.

• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and maintain proper infection-control protocols.

• Assist with four-handed dentistry, suction, instrument transfer, and preparation of dental materials.

• Take and maintain dental records, patient history, and treatment notes.

• Prepare patients for treatment and provide basic post-treatment instructions as directed by the dentist.

• Maintain adequate stock of dental materials, instruments, and consumables.

• Ensure the dental operatory is clean, organized, and ready for the next patient.

• Assist with X-rays/dental imaging where trained and permitted.

• Coordinate with the front desk regarding patient appointments and treatment schedules.

• Handle patients professionally and provide a warm and reassuring experience.

• Follow clinic safety, hygiene, sterilization, and infection-control procedures.

• Support general clinic duties when required.

Skills Required

• Basic knowledge of dental instruments and procedures.

• Good understanding of sterilization and infection control.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patient-friendly and professional attitude.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Basic computer knowledge is an advantage.

Qualification

• Diploma/Certificate in Dental Assisting or relevant experience is an advantage

• Freshers with appropriate training may also be considered.

Preferred

• Previous experience assisting in general dentistry, RCT, extractions, crowns/bridges, implants, orthodontics, etc.

• Knowledge of dental clinic software is an advantage.

Working Hours: 9:30 AM–7:00 PM

• It is a Full Time రిసెప్షనిస్ట్ job for candidates with 1 - 3 years of experience.
