Patient Meal Service
Collect patient meals from the designated Patient Kitchen in clean and appropriate food containers/tiffins.
Deliver and serve meals to patients in their respective rooms/beds as per the prescribed diet schedule.
Ensure timely service of:
Morning Tea
Breakfast
Fruits / Juice
Lunch
Evening Tea
Dinner
Diet Compliance
Strictly follow the diet plan prescribed by the Dietician/Nutrition Department.
Ensure the correct diet is served to the correct patient as per the diet chart.
Check patient name/bed number and diet instructions before serving.
Do not make any changes or substitutions in the patient's diet without authorization.
Hygiene & Food Safety:
Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, including clean uniform, hand hygiene, hair restraint, and appropriate PPE as required.
Ensure food containers/tiffins are clean and properly handled.
Avoid contamination during transportation and serving of food.
Follow all hospital food safety, infection control, and hygiene protocols.
Patient Interaction:
Serve patients politely, respectfully, and with a caring attitude.
Assist patients, wherever required, while serving food, without compromising patient dignity and safety.
Immediately report any patient concern, complaint, food issue, or special requirement to the concerned supervisor/nursing/dietician team.
Collection & Return
Collect used tiffins/utensils from patient areas after the designated meal time.
Ensure all used utensils are safely returned to the designated area as per hospital procedure.
Maintain cleanliness of the food service trolley/transport equipment.
Coordination:
Coordinate with the Dietician, Patient Kitchen, Nursing Staff, and Housekeeping Supervisor for smooth patient food service.
Follow all instructions related to special diets, fasting patients, discharge, room/bed transfers, and diet modifications.
Additional Responsibilities
Maintain punctuality and proper attendance.
Complete assigned duties within the shift without compromising service quality.
Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct while working in patient areas.
Perform any other patient food service-related duties assigned by the supervisor or hospital management.
