Job Description – Automobile Painter

Job Title: Car Painter / Automotive Painter
Department: Body Shop
Reports To: Body Shop Manager / Workshop Supervisor

Job Summary

The Automobile Painter is responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces, mixing paints, and applying coatings to restore vehicles to original finish and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and priming.

• Mix paints and match colors accurately.

• Apply paint using spray guns and painting equipment.

• Polish and finish painted surfaces for smooth appearance.

• Inspect paintwork for defects and correct imperfections.

• Maintain paint booth cleanliness and equipment.

• Follow safety procedures while handling chemicals and paints.

• Coordinate with deters and supervisors for job completion.

Requirements

• ITI / Diploma in Automobile or Painter trade preferred.

• 2–5 years' experience in automobile painting.

• Knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, and spray techniques.

• Familiarity with painting tools and safety standards.

• Attention to detail and finishing quality.
