Staff Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Scrub Nurse / Operating Room Nurse (OT Nurse) to assist surgeons during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining sterile environments, preparing operating rooms, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain a sterile field in the operation theatre (OT)

Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams during procedures

Arrange and handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment

Perform surgical counts (instruments, sponges, needles) before and after procedures

Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and patient safety standards

Monitor patient condition during surgery and report any abnormalities

Sterilize and store surgical instruments according to hospital protocols

Maintain accurate patient and procedure records

Collaborate with healthcare teams for smooth OT operations

Required Skills

Required Qualifications

Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or BSc Nursing

Valid nursing registration (State Nursing Council)

Certification or training in Operation Theatre (OT) Nursing / Perioperative Nursing preferred

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques

Familiarity with OT equipment and surgical instruments

Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

Ability to work in high-pressure environments

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines
