Marine Diesel Engine Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Marine Diesel Engine Technician to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair marine diesel engines and related mechanical systems. The candidate should have practical experience in marine engine servicing and be capable of handling maintenance and breakdown-related work.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of marine diesel engines.

• Diagnose engine faults and troubleshoot mechanical problems.

• Inspect fuel, cooling, lubrication, exhaust, and starting systems.

• Carry out dismantling, inspection, replacement, and assembly of engine components.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance.

• Check engine performance and ensure proper operating condition.

• Use appropriate tools and measuring instruments for engine inspection and repair.

• Maintain service records and report technical issues to the supervisor.

• Follow safety procedures and company maintenance standards.

• Coordinate with senior technicians, engineers, and service teams during repair activities.

• Attend service calls and vessel/boat maintenance requirements when required.
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile, Marine Engineering or a related field.

• 0–5 years of hands-on experience in marine diesel engine maintenance or repair.

• Good knowledge of diesel engine components and operating systems.

• Experience in engine troubleshooting, servicing, and overhauling.

• Ability to read basic technical manuals and engine specifications.

• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Willingness to relocate at work locations when required.
  

Salary & Benefits

• Monthly Salary: ₹11,500 – ₹35,000, based on experience and technical skills.
