Welder

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead).

• Operate angle grinders and other tools to prepare metal parts for welding.

• Inspect and ensure quality of welded surfaces, and identify defects or problems.

• Perform welding on a variety of metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

• Use appropriate safety gear and follow all company and OSHA safety standards.

• Maintain welding equipment and tools in proper working condition.

• Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to meet project requirements.

• Complete all welding-related documentation, logs, or reports as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in welding preferred.

• Proven experience as a welder (minimum [X] years).

• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or Flux-Core welding (depending on role).

• Knowledge of metallurgy and the behavior of metals during the welding process.

• Familiarity with welding symbols, drawings, and welding codes (e.g., AWS standards).

Skills:

• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.

• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to metal work and welding equipment.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new welding methods or materials.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to high heat, bright light, sparks, and heavy equipment.

• May involve working in tight or elevated spaces.

• Use of PPE (gloves, helmet, mask, boots, etc.) is mandatory.

• Potential shift work, overtime, or weekend hours depending on project deadlines.
