Job Title:

Approved Welder Technician – TIG & MIG (SS / MS / GI Materials)

Qualification:

• 10th / 12th / ITI / Diploma in Welding or related field

Experience:

• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW / TIG) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW / MIG) on Stainless Steel (SS), Mild Steel (MS), and Galvanized Iron (GI) materials

Job Description / Key Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG and MIG welding operations on SS, MS, and GI materials as per approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).

• Ensure weld quality meets ASME / AWS standards and client requirements.

• Prepare and set up welding equipment, tools, and materials for daily operations.

• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.

• Conduct visual inspections and basic NDT checks to verify weld integrity.

• Maintain proper records of weld tests, consumables, and equipment maintenance.

• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in the workshop and on-site.

• Support fabrication, repair, and modification works as needed.

• Coordinate with QA/QC and engineering teams during inspection and approval processes.

Skills Required:

• Expertise in TIG & MIG welding processes.

• Ability to weld in different positions (1G–6G preferred).

• Knowledge of welding parameters, filler materials, and shielding gases.

• Understanding of different metal types (SS/MS/GI) and their welding characteristics.

• Basic knowledge of WPS, PQR, and welder qualification standards.

• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
