VMC Operator (Vertical Machining Center Operator)
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled VMC Operator to set up, operate, and monitor Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines for manufacturing precision components. The candidate should be able to read engineering drawings, maintain quality standards, and ensure safe machine operation.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate VMC/CNC machines according to production requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process sheets.
Load CNC programs and perform machine setup.
Select, install, and adjust cutting tools and fixtures.
Monitor machining operations and make tool offset adjustments when required.
Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
Ensure products meet dimensional and quality specifications.
Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain machine cleanliness.
Record production data and report machine or quality issues to the supervisor.
Follow safety procedures, 5S practices, and company quality standards.
Required Qualifications
ITI (Machinist, Turner, Fitter) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
1–3 years of experience operating VMC/CNC machines (or as required).
Knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, or similar CNC controllers is preferred.
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T basics.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
Basic understanding of G-code and M-code is an advantage.
