Vehicle Test Engineer - Commuter Two-Wheelers

Tech support - Commuters Function Research & Development - Jaipur Pay Band E3 & below Role The ideal candidate will manage vehicle preparation and lead test execution at both the system and full-vehicle levels. This role is crucial for validating that all vehicles meet rigorous durability, safety, performance, and reliability standards across the entire development lifecycle. A purpose driven role for you •Conducting hands-on validation in both laboratory and real-world environments to evaluate vehicle functionality, durability, and performance under diverse operating conditions. •Preparing test vehicles by verifying that all subsystems and components function strictly according to engineering specifications. •Taking routine measurements of various vehicle parts to track wear and project overall service life. •Investigating anomalies and failures encountered during trials and actively proposing effective solutions. •Performing regular physical inspections and test drives to evaluate real-world vehicle health and drivability. • Equipping vehicles with data acquisition tools to capture and log signals from the vehicle CAN bus and external sensors. •Utilizing specialized software to review data logs, identifying key performance metrics, trends, and system anomalies. •Compiling comprehensive engineering reports and systematically organizing the database for all test results and records. •Participating in vehicle servicing and repair tasks while providing technical guidance to shop floor technicians. •Refining testing methodologies and designing new fixtures to boost testing efficiency, precision, and repeatability. A Day in the life •Durability monitoring •Performance Evaluation •Environmental testing •Functionality Evaluation •Test Vehicle Instrumentation & Service Data compilation •Data analysis, Report preparation, Database management •Continuous improvement initiatives Academic Qualification & Experience •Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering •3+ years of experience in the same field Technical Skills/Knowledge ] •Demonstrating practical expertise in motorcycle/scooter testing, including deep knowledge of internal combustion engines, electric vehicles, powertrain systems, brakes, electrical systems, and safety features. •Maintaining strong familiarity with core vehicle performance attributes, standard validation methodologies, and current automotive industry trends. •Exhibiting a proven track record in monitoring long-term durability programs and evaluating component lifespans. •Demonstrating proficiency in operating a wide range of precision measurement instruments and workshop service tools. •Approaching tasks with strict attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. •Utilizing vehicle data loggers and displaying preferred proficiency in specialized analysis tools such as VBox, CANalyzer, DiaLog, or similar applications. •Understanding and applying guidelines from various national and international vehicle testing standards and regulatory bodies.
