Job Title: Sofa Supervisor
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Reporting To: Production Manager / Factory Manager
Job Summary
The Sofa Supervisor is responsible for overseeing sofa manufacturing activities, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards. The role includes managing workers, monitoring production processes, and coordinating with various departments for smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
Supervise daily sofa production activities.
Ensure production targets are achieved as per the production plan.
Monitor cutting, stitching, upholstery, assembly, and finishing processes.
Minimize production delays and material wastage.
Quality Control
Ensure sofas meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
Conduct regular inspections during and after production.
Identify defects and implement corrective actions.
Team Management
Allocate work among operators, carpenters, upholsterers, and helpers.
Monitor employee attendance and productivity.
Train and guide workers on manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
Maintain discipline and workplace harmony.
Inventory & Material Control
Coordinate with stores for timely availability of raw materials.
Monitor material consumption and reduce wastage.
Report shortages or excess material requirements.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure workers follow safety procedures and use PPE.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow company policies and factory regulations.
Coordination
Coordinate with Planning, Purchase, Quality, and Dispatch departments.
Report production status and issues to management.
Assist in implementing process improvements.
Required Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
3–8 years of experience in sofa manufacturing, furniture production, or upholstery operations.
Knowledge of sofa construction, upholstery techniques, foam, fabric, and wooden frame assembly.
Good leadership and team management skills.
