Quality New Product Engineer

This role requires a strong technical background with a focus on New Product Development (NPD) and in-process quality within the automotive industry. Candidates must demonstrate robust knowledge across various technical domains and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Minimum Mandatory Criteria:

Candidates must meet specific minimum scores in key technical areas to qualify, regardless of their overall score. A high overall score will not compensate for a major technical weakness.

• NPD Knowledge: minimum 7/15

• In-Process Knowledge: minimum 5/10

• Quality Knowledge: minimum 5/10

• Instrument Knowledge: minimum 5/10

• Drawing/GD&T: minimum 5/10

• Part Structure & Function: minimum 5/10

• Overall Score: preferably 65+

For example, a candidate with 90/100 due to excellent qualification and experience but only 2/15 in NPD should not automatically qualify.

Recruitment Process - Interview Scoring Sheet (Total 100 Marks):

The recruitment process is divided into three stages to thoroughly assess candidates' capabilities, moving beyond just CV claims to verify actual understanding and skills.

Stage 1 – CV Screening (30 marks):

• Qualification – 5 marks

• Automotive experience – 10 marks

• NPD exposure – 10 marks

• Industry relevance – 5 marks

Stage 2 – Technical Test (50 marks):

This stage is crucial for verifying a candidate's practical and theoretical understanding of core technical areas.

• NPD (New Product Development) – 10 marks

• In-process quality – 10 marks

• Instruments – 10 marks

• Drawing/GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) – 10 marks

• Part structure/fitment/function – 10 marks

Stage 3 – Personal/Practical Interview (20 marks):

This stage assesses soft skills and practical application abilities.

• IQ/Analytical thinking – 5 marks

• Communication – 5 marks

• Problem solving – 5 marks

• Documentation/Excel – 5 marks

This structured approach ensures that candidates truly understand the entire product lifecycle from drawing to part, process, inspection, fitment, function, and problem-solving, rather than just claiming experience.
