Roles & Responsibilities

Collect raw water, process water, and finished water samples.

Perform physical, chemical, and microbiological tests as per the testing schedule.

Check and record pH, TDS, turbidity, hardness, alkalinity, chlorine, conductivity, and other quality parameters.

Conduct microbiological testing (Total Plate Count, Coliform, E. coli, Yeast & Mold, etc., as applicable).

Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure timely calibration.

Prepare reagents and maintain laboratory chemicals safely.

Maintain all laboratory records, test reports, and quality control registers.

Ensure compliance with FSSAI, BIS (IS 14543), and company quality standards.

Inform management immediately if any test result is out of specification and assist in corrective actions.

Monitor sanitation and hygiene practices in the production and filling areas.

Verify bottle washing, cap sanitation, and finished product quality.

Assist during internal audits, FSSAI inspections, and BIS audits.

Monitor stock of laboratory chemicals, media, and consumables, and raise purchase requests when required.

Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain cleanliness.

If the lab technician is also responsible for office work, additional duties may include:

Maintaining purchase and sales records.

Preparing GST-related invoices and maintaining accounts.

Recording daily production and dispatch details.

Maintaining stock registers for bottles, caps, labels, cartons, and chemicals.

Assisting management with documentation and administrative work.
