QA / QC Executive – Cosmetic Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented QA/QC Executive for our Cosmetic Manufacturing Unit. The candidate will be responsible for Raw Material, In-Process, Finished Product and Packaging Material Quality Control, as well as maintaining QA/QC documentation and ensuring compliance with applicable cosmetic manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Raw Material Quality Control

- Sampling and testing of incoming raw materials.

- Verification of raw material specifications, COA and supplier documents.

- Maintain Raw Material QC records.

- Ensure proper identification, quarantine, approval/rejection and storage status.

2. In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)

- Monitor manufacturing processes as per approved Master Formula Record (MFR).

- Perform and record in-process checks such as:

- Appearance

- Colour

- Odour

- pH

- Viscosity

- Specific Gravity, where applicable

- Fill Weight / Volume

- Other product-specific parameters

- Report deviations and abnormalities to the concerned department.

3. Finished Product Quality Control

- Sampling and testing of finished cosmetic products.

- Review QC test results against approved specifications.

- Prepare and maintain Finished Product QC reports.

- Ensure products are released only after satisfactory QC results and QA review.

4. Packaging Material Inspection

- Inspection of bottles, tubes, caps, pumps, labels, cartons and other packaging materials.

- Verification of artwork, batch coding, MRP, net quantity and other approved packaging details.

- Maintain Packaging Material Inspection Records.

5. QA Documentation

Maintain and update:

- Raw Material QC Records

- Packaging Material QC Records

- IPQC Records

- Finished Product QC Reports

- Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR)

- Master Formula Records (MFR)

- SOPs

- Specifications

- Calibration Records

- Cleaning & Sanitation Records

- Deviation / Change Control Records

- CAPA Records, where applicable

- Stability / Retention Sample Records

6. GMP & Compliance

- Follow applicable Cosmetic GMP requirements and internal SOPs.

- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of manufacturing and QC activities.

- Support internal inspections and regulatory inspections.

- Maintain laboratory and manufacturing-area hygiene and discipline.

7. Laboratory Responsibilities

- Maintain QC laboratory cleanliness and good laboratory practices.

- Ensure proper status and calibration of laboratory instruments.

- Maintain testing records and logbooks.

- Properly label and store samples and reagents.

Required Qualification

Preferred:

- B.Pharm / M.Pharm

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. (Chemistry)

- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) may be considered for suitable candidates, particularly for junior/fresher QA/QC roles.

Experience

- Fresher: Candidates with relevant educational background can apply.

- Experienced: 2–3 years of experience in Cosmetic / Pharmaceutical / Personal Care manufacturing preferred.

Required Skills

- Basic knowledge of cosmetic raw materials and formulations.

- Knowledge of pH, viscosity, specific gravity and basic laboratory testing.

- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.

- Basic knowledge of GMP and QC procedures.

- Ability to follow SOPs and manufacturing instructions.

- Good communication and coordination skills.

- Computer knowledge, especially MS Word and Excel.

- Attention to detail and ability to identify quality deviations.

- Willingness to learn cosmetic manufacturing processes.

- Ability to work independently as well as with the Production and QA/QC team.

QA/QC Head / Quality Manager

Salary: As per qualification, experience and competency.
