Textured Soy Protein (TSP/TVP) Operator is responsible for managing the extrusion process that transforms soy flour or concentrate into meat-like nuggets, chunks, or mince.

1. Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation: Manage the startup, operation, and shutdown of twin-screw extruders, mixers, and drying equipment.

Process Monitoring: Use PLC-based computer systems to monitor temperature (high pressure/temp puffing), pressure, and material flow.

Quality Control: Perform Texture Profile Analysis (TPA) to ensure final products meet standards for hardness, springiness, and chewiness.

Inventory Management: Monitor raw materials like defatted soy meal, peanut meal, and additives to ensure continuous production.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical issues, such as cleaning extruders or changing barrels and molds to achieve different shapes (nuggets, chunks, balls).

Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean work environment following food safety protocols and perform routine lubrication of equipment.

2. Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of thermoplastic extrusion and the chemical properties of soy protein.

Software Proficiency: Ability to operate plant software and respond to computerized alarm systems.

Experience: Prior experience in food processing, extrusion, or as a general plant operator.

Education: High school diploma or technical certification; specific training in food technology is preferred.

3. Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long shifts and handle machinery components (molds, screws).

Work in environments with high temperatures and industrial noise from large-scale extruders.
