Job Title: Lathe Operator

Experience: 2–5 Years

Qualification: ITI in Turner / Machinist / Fitter (Preferred)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Lathe Operator to handle conventional lathe machines and perform various machining operations with precision and efficiency. The candidate should have hands-on experience in machine setup, tool selection, and reading engineering drawings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Operate conventional lathe machines safely and efficiently

Perform machining operations such as turning, facing, threading, boring, knurling, taper turning, and grooving

Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders

Set correct speeds, feeds, and depth of cuts

Read and interpret engineering drawings and job cards

Ensure dimensional accuracy and proper surface finish

Perform machine setup and set tool offsets and work coordinates

Measure components using vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators

Identify and correct machining errors

Carry out daily machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance

Coordinate with supervisors, fitters, and the quality team

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of machining processes and tools

Ability to read mechanical drawings

Attention to detail and accuracy

Basic troubleshooting skills in machining

Preferred:

Experience in heavy engineering or fabrication workshop
