assembles, aligns, and tests industrial pump components—such as impellers, shafts, seals, and motors—based on technical drawings. They use hand/power tools and precision measuring instruments to ensure components meet strict specifications and quality standards (ISO).

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assembly & Fitting: Assemble pump components (casing, impellers, seals, bearings) according to blueprints.

• Precision Alignment: Perform precise alignment of pump and motor shafts, including setting tolerances and clearances.

• Tools & Equipment: Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers).

• Testing & Quality Control: Perform hydrostatic tests, leak tests, and trial runs to verify performance and quality.

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose, disassemble, and repair malfunctioning pumps.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly, inspections, and maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in mechanical assembly, preferably within the pump or heavy machinery industry.

• Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.

• Technical Education: ITI Fitter certificate or similar mechanical certification is common.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a workshop environment, often requiring lifting, standing, and manual dexterity.

• Skills: Strong knowledge of hydraulic components, mechanical seals, and coupling alignment techniques.
