JOB DESCRIPTION

A dispatch executive in the manufacturing industry manages the end-to-end supply chain process of finished goods. They oversee inventory control, coordinate packaging, generate shipping documents (like invoices and E-way bills), and liaise with transport agencies to ensure products are delivered to customers on time and cost-effectively.

Core Responsibilities

• Order Processing: Verify that outgoing goods match sales orders, shipping instructions, and customer specifications.

• Documentation: Generate accurate tax invoices, delivery challans, bills of lading, and e-way bills in compliance with statutory regulations.

• Transportation & Freight: Liaise with transport vendors and truck drivers to arrange vehicle placement, negotiate freight rates, and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.

• Inventory Management: Oversee the finished goods storehouse, ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) practices, and maintain accurate stock logs.

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with the production, quality control, and sales teams to confirm that materials are ready for loading and align with daily dispatch schedules.

  Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports regarding dispatch metrics, inventory discrepancies, and transport costs for the management team.

Key Qualifications & Skills

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree (B.Com, B.Sc) or an MBA in Supply Chain Management (SCM) or Materials Management.

• Industry Experience: Typically 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing or FMCG dispatch operations.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Tally).

• Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills to manage fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
