JOB OVERVIEW

Our client, a reputed precision manufacturing company at Manjusar – Savli GIDC, Vadodara, is looking for an experienced CNC Citizen Sliding Head Machine Programmer & Setter.

The selected candidate will be responsible for CNC programming, machine setting, tooling, program prove-out, production support and process optimization on Citizen/Cincom Sliding Head CNC Machines to achieve high-quality and precision production.

🔧 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create, modify and optimize CNC programs using G-code for Citizen/Cincom Sliding Head machines.

• Perform complete machine setup including tooling, guide bushes, collets, offsets and sub-spindle operations.

• Handle multi-axis machining, live tooling and back-machining operations.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances and GD&T.

• Conduct program prove-out, trial runs and first-off component approval.

• Optimize cutting speed, feed rate, cycle time and tool life.

• Troubleshoot machining issues such as burrs, chip control, surface finish, tool wear and dimensional variation.

• Carry out in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other precision measuring instruments.

• Maintain CNC programs, setup sheets, tool records and process documentation.

• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering and Tooling teams for process improvement and new product development.

• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and production standards.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

Mandatory / Strong Preference:

• Hands-on experience with Citizen / Cincom Sliding Head CNC Machines.

• Strong knowledge of G-code programming and machine setting.

• Knowledge of live tooling, sub-spindle and back-machining operations.

• Good understanding of tool selection, cutting parameters and machining processes.

• Ability to independently handle setup, program prove-out and production corrections.

Additional Advantage:

• Knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens controls.

• Knowledge of Mastercam, NX or other CAM software.

• Experience in precision component manufacturing.

• Knowledge of GD&T, fits and tolerances.

• Experience in medical devices, orthopaedic implants, aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• 2–10 years of relevant experience in CNC Citizen Sliding Head Machine Programming & Setting.

• Candidates with strong hands-on Citizen/Cincom experience will be preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy.

• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as with a production team.

• Commitment to quality, safety and productivity.

IMPORTANT FOR CANDIDATES

Hands-on experience in Citizen/Cincom Sliding Head CNC Programming & Setting is highly preferred. Candidates having only conventional CNC/VMC experience without relevant Sliding Head experience may not be suitable.
