JOB FOR DESIGANER

Their day-to-day workflow typically involves the following core responsibilities:

• Concept Generation: Translating client needs or market trends into initial sketches and early brainstorm concepts.

• 3D Modeling & Drafting: Utilizing software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks to create highly detailed digital blueprints, factoring in dimensions and tolerances.

• Simulation & Validation: Running stress tests, fluid dynamic tests, and structural simulations using computational software (CAE/FEA) to ensure the design is safe and functional before building it.

• Prototyping & Testing: Building physical or digital prototypes to observe real-world performance, troubleshoot flaws, and iterate on the design.

• Manufacturing Optimization: Working alongside production teams to make sure the final product can be affordably and efficiently mass-produced.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling & Detailing: Create highly accurate 3D parts, complex assemblies, and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.

• Design Optimization: Evaluate designs for functionality, manufacturability, and cost reduction.

• BOM Management: Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procurement and production.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with shop floor/production, quality assurance, and sales teams to resolve design conflicts and implement improvements.

• Revision Control: Manage engineering changes (ECOs) and maintain organized revision histories and drawing files.

• Standard Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry engineering standards (e.g., ASME, ISO) and GD&T principles. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical diploma.

• Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of SolidWorks (Part modeling, Assembly, Drafting, and Sheet Metal modules).

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, casting, and injection molding) and material selection.

• Attention to Detail: Excellent blueprint reading skills and a solid grasp of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
