Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Drafting & Document Analysis
Handle non-litigation legal work with expertise in drafting, vetting, and analyzing various legal documents including:
Development Agreements, Redevelopment Agreements
Conveyance Deeds, MOUs, Power of Attorney (POA)
Leave & License Agreements, Lease Deeds
Gift Deeds, Release Deeds, Rectification Deeds
Notices, replies, agreements with service providers
Legal correspondence with MHADA, SRA, BMC and other authorities
Review all property-transfer-related documentation with strong accuracy.
2. Legal Research
Conduct in-depth legal research on real estate, redevelopment laws, relevant acts, and new amendments.
Provide legally sound opinions and advisory notes to management.
3. Due Diligence
Carry out due diligence for land acquisition, redevelopment projects, and society properties.
Examine society documents, title papers, NA orders, 7/12 extracts, mutation entries, search reports, and statutory compliances.
4. Society Coordination
Interact with society members, coordinate for redevelopment documentation, meetings, and compliance updates.
5. Document Verification
Work closely with the Business Development Team and land aggregators for document procurement and verification.
Identify missing documents and ensure proper follow-up until completion.
6. Legal Records Management
Maintain updated records, files, document trackers, and data repositories for all legal matters.
7. Litigation Coordination
Ensure timely follow-up on all ongoing court matters relating to property, consumer disputes, labour issues, etc.
Maintain case files, keep exhibits updated, and follow up with external advocates.
8. Liaison & Coordination
Coordinate with external law firms, advocates, consultants, and authorities.
Provide case updates and instructions for hearings and compliance.
9. Legal Notices & Replies
Draft, prepare, respond, and issue legal notices as required.
10. Reporting & MIS
Provide weekly updates to management on litigation status, legal updates, risks, and key observations.
Maintain MIS for ongoing cases and legal work.
11. Internal Coordination
Work collaboratively with engineering, BD, accounts, and project teams for legal support and documentation.
Qualifications & Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB – 3 or 5 years).
3 to 5 years of experience in non-litigation legal work, preferably in real estate or construction.
Strong understanding of Redevelopment, MHADA/SRA/BMC laws, RERA, and property-related regulations.
Excellent drafting, vetting, and documentation skills.
Ability to independently handle society coordination and documentation review.
Experience with legal due diligence and title verification.
Strong communication skills in English, Hindi, and Marathi (Must be able to read/write Marathi documents).
Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
