Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Legal Officer/Manager to oversee all legal, regulatory, and compliance functions of our 3-wheeler auto finance NBFC operations. The role is responsible for ensuring adherence to RBI regulations, safeguarding the company’s legal interests, managing loan documentation, handling recovery litigation, and minimizing legal and regulatory risk.
1. Recovery & Litigation Management
· Handle loan default cases, arbitration, cheque bounce matters (NI Act), and civil litigation.
· Coordinate with external advocates for court and tribunal matters.
· Manage repossession and recovery processes within legal framework.
· Track and reduce litigation exposure.
2. Risk Mitigation & Advisory
· Advise management on legal risks in lending and recovery processes.
· Conduct legal due diligence for high-value loans.
· Develop internal legal risk control systems.
1. Legal Documentation & Contracts
· Draft, vet, and standardize loan agreements, hypothecation agreements, guarantees, and recovery notices.
· Review dealer agreements, vendor contracts, recovery agency agreements, and employment contracts.
· Ensure legally enforceable documentation across all branches.
2. Regulatory Compliance (NBFC)
· Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines applicable to NBFCs.
· Oversee KYC, Fair Practices Code, outsourcing norms, and regulatory reporting.
· Monitor regulatory updates and implement necessary changes.
· Coordinate with auditors, compliance officers, and regulatory authorities.
3. Policy & Governance
· Draft and update internal legal policies and SOPs.
· Ensure compliance with Companies Act and other applicable laws.
· Maintain proper legal documentation and case records.

Qualifications & Experience
LLB / LLM from a recognized university.
Enrolled with Bar Council of India.
5–8 years’ experience in NBFC / Banking / Vehicle Finance sector.
Strong knowledge of RBI regulations, SARFAESI Act (Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002) (if applicable), NI Act, Contract Act, Companies Act.
