Job Title

Warehouse Staff / Warehouse Operative

Job Purpose

To support safe and efficient warehouse operations by moving, organizing, and dispatching goods, while keeping the warehouse clean and well-ordered. The role involves regular manual handling and some heavy lifting.

Key Responsibilities

Goods Handling & Movement

· Receive, unload, and check incoming goods against delivery notes or purchase orders

· Move goods around the warehouse using manual methods as required.

· Store items in correct locations, ensuring they are neatly arranged and clearly labelled

· Pick items from stock to fulfill orders accurately and on time.

Dispatch & Organization

· Prepare goods for dispatch: pack, wrap, label, and stage items in the loading area.

· Load goods onto delivery vehicles safely and efficiently

· Maintain accurate records of stock movements, dispatches, and any discrepancies.

· Keep storage areas organized so that fast-moving and priority items are easy to access.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to perform regular manual handling and lift/move heavy items

Skills & Attributes

· Basic numeracy and literacy for reading labels, orders, and simple records

· Attention to detail to avoid picking/dispatch errors.

· Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.

· Willingness to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities.

· Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor / Warehouse Manager.
