Position Overview:

The Warden will be responsible for the overall administration, discipline, and welfare of residents (children/senior citizens) in the hostel/residential facility. The ideal candidate should be compassionate, organized, and capable of maintaining a disciplined yet caring atmosphere in line with Sevalaya’s values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise day-to-day activities in the hostel/residential facility.

• Ensure safety, security, and well-being of all residents at all times.

• Maintain discipline and a positive living environment.

• Oversee cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance of hostel premises.

• Coordinate with kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance teams for smooth operations.

• Keep records of attendance, health, and movement of residents.

• Address grievances and resolve issues promptly with empathy and fairness.

• Monitor and guide residents in maintaining proper behavior and personal hygiene.

• Liaise with the management and staff to ensure effective communication and operations.

• Support educational, cultural, and recreational activities for residents.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Social Work background preferred).

• Minimum 1–6 years of experience as a Warden or in a similar supervisory role in a hostel, school, or NGO setting.

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to handle emergencies and maintain confidentiality.

• Fluency in Tamil and English preferred.
