Packing Staff

A Packaging Worker packs, weighs, labels, and seals items for shipment or storage, ensuring quality and accuracy by inspecting products, following guidelines, and maintaining a clean workspace, often using warehouse equipment like pallet jacks and scanners to prepare orders efficiently for distribution. Key duties include assembling orders, managing paperwork, keeping records, and adhering to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Packing & Assembly:

  Place items in containers, use protective materials (bubble wrap, padding), and seal boxes securely.

• Labeling & Documentation:

  Weigh packages, apply correct shipping labels, and fill out order forms/invoices accurately.

• Quality Control:

  Inspect items for defects, check for damage, and ensure compliance with shipping regulations.

• Material Handling:

  Move inventory, load/unload shipments, and organize stock using equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts.

• Workplace Maintenance:

  Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe, following all company safety standards.

• Record Keeping:

  Maintain logs of shipments, invoices, and inventory.

Essential Skills & Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (often preferred).

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Physical stamina (ability to stand, lift).

• Basic math and communication skills.

• Experience with hand tools and warehouse equipment (preferred).

Work Environment:

• Typically in a warehouse or production facility.

• Can involve repetitive tasks and physical work.

• Fast-paced, meeting production targets.
