A packing staff member, or packer, prepares products for storage or shipment. They ensure items are counted accurately, packaged securely to prevent damage, labeled correctly, and transferred to designated loading areas. They play a vital role in customer satisfaction and supply chain efficiency.

Order Processing: Pull, pick, and pack items listed on order slips using barcode scanners or paper lists.
Quality Assurance: Inspect goods for damage or defects before placing them into boxes or containers, discarding non-conforming items.
packaging and Sealing: Select appropriately sized boxes and utilize protective materials (e.g., bubble wrap, foam, shrink wrap) to secure items.
Labeling and Documentation: Accurately weigh packages, apply proper shipping labels, and record inventory or shipment data using computers or ledgers.
Equipment Operation: Safely utilize warehouse equipment such as tape guns, box cutters, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area to ensure workplace safety and compliance with OSHA or local standards.

key Qualifications & SkillsPhysical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, bend, twist, stoop, and regularly lift/move heavy packages (often up to 25–50+ lbs).
Attention to Detail: High accuracy in reading order sheets, checking labels, and matching product SKUs.Time Management: Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet daily dispatch and shipping deadlines.
Basic Technical Skills: Familiarity with basic computer data entry, handheld scanners, and basic hand tools.
