Laboratory Technician – Chemistry (B.Sc. Chemistry)
The Chemistry Lab Technician is responsible for supporting laboratory operations by preparing reagents, maintaining equipment, assisting in experiments, and ensuring safety and cleanliness in the laboratory. The role supports teaching, research, or industrial testing activities.
Prepare chemical solutions, reagents, and samples as per standard protocols
Assist faculty/researchers/staff during laboratory experiments and practical sessions
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments (e.g., pH meter, spectrophotometer, balances)
Perform routine chemical analyses and record observations accurately
Ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and waste
Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization
Calibrate equipment and report malfunctions or safety issues
Maintain lab records, stock registers, and inventory of chemicals and glassware
Follow laboratory safety rules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Assist in setting up labs for practical exams or demonstrations
B.Sc. in Chemistry (or equivalent) – mandatory
Diploma or certification in laboratory techniques (preferred but not mandatory)
Basic knowledge of analytical, organic, and inorganic chemistry
Familiarity with laboratory instruments and glassware
Understanding of chemical safety and MSDS
Good observation and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer skills (MS Excel, lab records)
Freshers may apply
