Role summary
Own the daily reconciliation of merchant payout data against bank statements. You'll match transactions by UTR, investigate mismatches (payouts not debited, bank debits with no app record, reversals), and maintain the MIS/dashboards that give the finance and operations teams a clean view of settlement status.
Key responsibilities
Reconcile payout/transaction data from the internal system against bank statements daily, using UTR as the matching key.
Identify and categorize breaks: missing-in-bank, missing-in-app, amount mismatches, duplicates, and reversals; follow up with banking/ops partners to resolve them.
Build and maintain reconciliation workbooks and merchant-level MIS dashboards in Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS/COUNTIFS, pivot tables, conditional formatting).
Track per-merchant settlement amounts, success/failure rates, and match rates; flag exceptions and aging breaks.
Prepare daily/weekly reconciliation summaries for finance and management.
Maintain documentation and an audit trail of resolved discrepancies.
Must-have skills
1–4 years in reconciliation, finance operations, or settlements (payments/fintech/PG/NBFC preferred).
Strong Excel: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS/COUNTIFS, conditional formatting.
Understanding of payment flows and banking references (UTR, IMPS/RTGS/NEFT, RAP).
High accuracy and attention to detail; comfortable with large transaction volumes.
BCom / BBA / accounting or finance background.
Good to have
SQL or Google Sheets/Looker Studio/Power BI for larger-scale recon and dashboards.
Exposure to payment gateways, payout systems, or merchant settlement.
Experience: 1–4 years (a junior/fresher version can be posted as "Reconciliation Executive").
