The Smart City Property Census in Jalandhar, Punjab, involves digitizing property records, GIS mapping, and Unique Property Identification (PID) to enhance municipal revenue, improve urban planning, and facilitate better services under the Smart City Mission. The initiative aims to map all commercial, residential, and industrial properties to streamline tax collection and infrastructure development. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• GIS Mapping and Digitalization: Creating a comprehensive GIS-based database for all land uses, transport, and utilities.

• Unique Property ID (PID): Assigning a unique ID to every property to streamline tax collection, water, and sewage connections.

• Infrastructure Improvement: Using census data to support projects like the rejuvenation of the Kala Sanghian Drain, setting up smart roads, and expanding sewage treatment.

• Revenue Enhancement: Improving property tax assessment and reducing revenue leakage for the Municipal Corporation of Jalandhar.

• Waste Management: Using property data to optimize waste collection routes and infrastructure, specifically for the Solid Waste Management initiative. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

The project aims to enable online approvals, improve traffic management, and enhance public safety by transforming Jalandhar into a more connected and efficient industrial hub.
