JOB DESCRIPTION – HOUSEKEEPING TRAINER

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Housekeeping Trainer who has previously worked with a Facility Management company and has strong practical knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, chemicals, and cleaning machines.

The candidate will be responsible for training housekeeping staff, ensuring cleaning standards are maintained, supervising the team, and guiding staff on the correct use of chemicals, equipment, and machines. The person should be comfortable working on-site and handling practical cleaning requirements whenever required.

Key Responsibilities

• Train housekeeping staff on professional cleaning methods, procedures, and standards.

• Provide practical training on the correct usage, dilution, handling, and storage of cleaning chemicals.

• Train employees on the safe and effective operation of housekeeping and cleaning machines/equipment.

• Demonstrate proper cleaning techniques for different surfaces, areas, and facilities.

• Identify specific cleaning requirements at sites and guide the team on the appropriate cleaning process.

• Personally demonstrate or carry out cleaning activities when required to ensure the required standards are achieved.

• Inspect completed cleaning work and ensure it meets the client/site's cleaning requirements and quality standards.

• Supervise housekeeping staff working under the trainer and monitor their daily performance.

• Allocate and guide team members regarding cleaning tasks and responsibilities.

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and machines.

• Monitor the availability and appropriate usage of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping materials.

• Identify areas requiring improvement and provide corrective training to housekeeping staff.

• Conduct regular on-the-job training and refresher training for employees.

• Ensure all housekeeping activities are performed safely and according to standard operating procedures.

• Coordinate with site supervisors and operations teams regarding housekeeping requirements.

• Maintain discipline, grooming, punctuality, and professional behaviour among housekeeping staff.

• Report operational issues, training requirements, and site cleaning concerns to the concerned management.

• Ensure the team consistently meets the required cleanliness, hygiene, and service standards.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of housekeeping and cleaning operations.

• Practical knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their applications.

• Knowledge of cleaning machines and equipment.

• Strong understanding of different cleaning techniques and procedures.

• Good team handling and supervision skills.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to train and explain cleaning procedures clearly to housekeeping staff.

• Hands-on and willing to work on-site whenever required.

• Ability to identify cleaning requirements and provide suitable solutions.

• Good understanding of housekeeping quality and hygiene standards.

Eligibility

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in housekeeping/facility management.

• Previous experience working with a Facility Management company is required/preferred.

• Candidates with hands-on experience in housekeeping training, team supervision, cleaning chemicals, and cleaning machines will be preferred.

• Good communication skills.

• Ability to manage and guide housekeeping staff effectively.
