Job Summary
The Press Man is responsible for steam pressing and finishing hosiery garments such as T-shirts, lowers, tracksuits, shorts, sweatshirts, and school uniforms to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards before packing and dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
Steam press finished garments according to approved quality standards.
Remove wrinkles, folds, and unwanted creases without damaging the fabric.
Ensure correct shape and appearance of garments after pressing.
Check garments for stains, defects, loose threads, or stitching issues before pressing and report any discrepancies.
Maintain proper temperature and pressure settings based on fabric type.
Fold garments neatly after pressing and hand them over to the packing department.
Handle garments carefully to avoid burns, shine marks, or fabric damage.
Keep the pressing station clean, organized, and safe.
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of steam press equipment.
Follow production targets and delivery schedules.
Comply with all workplace safety and quality procedures.
Required Skills
Knowledge of steam press and ironing equipment.
Ability to identify different fabric types and appropriate pressing techniques.
Attention to detail and quality.
Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.
Teamwork and discipline.
Qualifications
Minimum: 8th Pass / 10th Pass (preferred).
Previous experience in garment or hosiery manufacturing is preferred.
Experience
1–3 years in garment pressing or finishing.
Freshers may be considered with training.
