Job Summary

The Press Man is responsible for steam pressing and finishing hosiery garments such as T-shirts, lowers, tracksuits, shorts, sweatshirts, and school uniforms to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards before packing and dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

• Steam press finished garments according to approved quality standards.

• Remove wrinkles, folds, and unwanted creases without damaging the fabric.

• Ensure correct shape and appearance of garments after pressing.

• Check garments for stains, defects, loose threads, or stitching issues before pressing and report any discrepancies.

• Maintain proper temperature and pressure settings based on fabric type.

• Fold garments neatly after pressing and hand them over to the packing department.

• Handle garments carefully to avoid burns, shine marks, or fabric damage.

• Keep the pressing station clean, organized, and safe.

• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of steam press equipment.

• Follow production targets and delivery schedules.

• Comply with all workplace safety and quality procedures.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of steam press and ironing equipment.

• Ability to identify different fabric types and appropriate pressing techniques.

• Attention to detail and quality.

• Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.

• Teamwork and discipline.

Qualifications

• Minimum: 8th Pass / 10th Pass (preferred).

• Previous experience in garment or hosiery manufacturing is preferred.

Experience

• 1–3 years in garment pressing or finishing.

• Freshers may be considered with training.

Working Conditions

• Full-time factory-based role.

• Standing for long hours.

• Working around steam and heated equipment.
