Key Responsibilities
Property Operations & Maintenance
Oversee Daily Operations: Ensure the smooth functioning of the reception, common areas, kitchen/cafe, and all facilities.
Maintenance & Upkeep: Coordinate repairs, arrange for preventative maintenance, and conduct regular inspections to ensure all facilities (plumbing, electrical, furniture, etc.) are in proper working order.
Cleanliness & Hygiene: Supervise housekeeping staff and ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are met throughout the property, including dormitories, rooms, and public areas.
Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels for supplies, place orders, and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Guest/Resident Management & Relations
Customer Service: Interact with guests, address complaints and concerns promptly and professionally, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
Check-ins/Check-outs: Oversee and assist with check-in and check-out procedures, manage reservations, and update online booking platforms.
Community Building: Organize social events and activities to foster a sense of community among guests.
Rule Enforcement: Uphold hostel rules and regulations consistently to maintain order, discipline, and a positive living environment for all residents.
Staff & Team Management
Supervision & Training: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of staff (housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, etc.), create task lists, and conduct performance evaluations.
Scheduling: Plan staff rotas and manage duty rosters to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
Conflict Resolution: Facilitate conflict resolution between staff members or between staff and guests.
Safety, Security & Finance
Safety & Security: Implement and monitor safety protocols, conduct emergency evacuation drills, maintain security devices (CCTV), and manage visitor logs.
Budgeting & Finance: Assist with preparing and managing the operational budget, monitoring expenses, collecting payments/rent, and preparing financial reports.
