Position: Housekeeping Boy

1. Position Details

2. Job Purpose

To maintain cleanliness, hygiene and overall housekeeping standards at the assigned premises and ensure that all cleaning activities are carried out safely and efficiently as per company and client requirements.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas including offices, corridors, reception areas, washrooms, common areas and other designated premises.

• Perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming and other routine cleaning activities.

• Clean and sanitize washrooms, toilets, wash basins, mirrors and related areas.

• Empty dustbins and dispose of waste in designated areas as per site procedures.

• Maintain cleanliness of furniture, fixtures, doors, windows and other surfaces.

• Use cleaning chemicals, equipment and tools properly and safely.

• Maintain adequate stock of housekeeping materials and report shortages to the Supervisor.

• Follow prescribed cleaning schedules, SOPs and instructions issued by the Supervisor.

• Ensure proper use and care of housekeeping equipment and materials.

• Immediately report any damage, leakage, unsafe condition or maintenance requirement noticed at the site.

• Maintain personal hygiene and wear the prescribed uniform, shoes and ID card during duty.

• Follow all safety, security, hygiene and fire-safety rules at the workplace.

• Maintain professional and courteous behaviour with employees, visitors, customers and client representatives.

• Assist in special cleaning activities, events and other housekeeping requirements whenever required.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding client premises and information.

• Perform any other housekeeping-related duties assigned by the Supervisor or Management.

4. Skills & Competencies

• Basic understanding of cleaning and housekeeping procedures.

• Ability to use basic housekeeping tools and equipment.

• Good personal hygiene and grooming.

• Punctual, disciplined and responsible.

• Physically fit and able to perform routine cleaning activities.

• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

• Polite and respectful behaviour.

• Basic communication skills in Hindi; knowledge of English will be an advantage.

5. Health & Safety Responsibilities

• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) wherever required.

• Handle cleaning chemicals strictly as per instructions.

• Never mix cleaning chemicals unless specifically instructed.

• Follow proper waste disposal procedures.

• Immediately report accidents, injuries, spills or hazardous conditions to the Supervisor.

• Follow all site-specific safety and emergency procedures.

6. Performance Parameters / KPIs

• Cleanliness and hygiene standards maintained as per site requirements.

• Completion of assigned cleaning tasks within the prescribed schedule.

• Proper use and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.

• Compliance with safety and hygiene procedures.

• Attendance and punctuality.

• Grooming and uniform compliance.

• Client and Supervisor feedback.

• Proper handling and control of housekeeping materials.

7. Working Conditions

The employee may be required to work in shifts, including day/night shifts, Sundays and holidays, depending upon the operational requirements of the client site. The employee may also be transferred or deployed to another site as per company requirements and applicable terms of employment.

8. General Responsibilities

The Housekeeping Boy shall comply with all company policies, site rules, safety procedures, client instructions and lawful directions of the Supervisor/Management. Any negligence, misconduct, unauthorized absence, misuse of company/client property or violation of safety procedures may result in disciplinary action as per company rules.
