A Network and CCTV Technician installs, configures, and maintains surveillance and IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include setting up IP cameras, configuring DVRs/NVRs, troubleshooting LAN/WAN networks, running low-voltage cabling, and ensuring seamless system integration and data security.
Key Responsibilities
CCTV & Surveillance:
Installation & Setup: Mount cameras (IP, analog, PTZ, Dome), terminate cables, and set up control room equipment.
System Configuration: Program Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and Network Video Recorders (NVRs) for optimal recording, storage, and playback.
Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine inspections, clean lenses, and replace faulty cameras or power supplies.
Network Infrastructure:
Network Setup: Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, network slowdowns, and IP conflicts.
Integration: Connect surveillance systems to local networks and configure remote viewing access on mobile devices or computers.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related fields.
Experience: Proven field experience in security system installation and general IT/network support.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet, fiber optics, and video compression standards.
Physical & Soft Skills: Ability to work at heights, lift heavy equipment, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service.
