Sales Manager – Job Description (Logistics Company)
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new clients, maintaining strong relationships, and achieving sales targets in the logistics and supply chain industry. The role involves B2B sales, negotiation, customer service, and coordination with operations teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue in logistics services such as transportation, warehousing, freight forwarding, and supply chain solutions.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calls, client visits, networking, and industry events.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
Prepare and present commercial proposals, quotations, and service agreements.
Collaborate with the operations and customer service teams to ensure timely service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Analyze customer requirements and recommend suitable logistics solutions.
Maintain a strong sales pipeline and update CRM with lead and client information.
Meet monthly and annual sales targets assigned by the management.
Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor offerings, and market trends.
Handle customer queries, resolve complaints, and ensure long-term business retention.
Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and performance summaries for management review.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or related field.
3–4 years of experience in sales, preferably in logistics, transportation, courier, or supply chain industry.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Good knowledge of logistics services like road transport, warehousing, freight, and distribution.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
Ability to work independently and handle client meetings confidently.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in B2B sales for logistics, warehousing, trucking, or freight forwarding companies.
Understanding of pricing structures, transit times, and logistics operations.
Salary Range
₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month (based on experience and performance).
