Sales-cum-Merchandiser (Textile Industry)
Role Overview
This is a high-energy, hybrid role for someone who can drive sales while managing the technical "behind-the-scenes" production work. You will be the face of the company for clients and the main coordinator for our sampling and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Account Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, handling inquiries, negotiating prices, and closing orders.
Conduct regular field work to meet new and existing clients, understand their needs, and show them our latest collections.
Build strong relationships to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
Sampling & Product Development:
Manage the entire sampling process from initial design to final approval.
Coordinate with the design and production teams to develop Salesman Samples (SMS), fit samples, and proto samples as per client specs.
Ensure all trims, fabrics, and lab dips are approved by the client before bulk production begins.
Field Work & Follow-ups:
Visit factories, mills, and job workers to track the status of samples and orders only if required.
Perform rigorous follow-ups on production timelines to ensure zero delays in delivery.
Follow up with clients regarding sample feedback, order approvals and meetings.
Operations & Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of all samples, tech packs, and client feedback in MS Excel or CRM.
Handle logistics documentation for sample dispatch and final order shipments.
Requirements
Textile Knowledge(optional): Good understanding of fabrics, GSM, dyeing, and garment construction.
Strong Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with both high-end clients and factory workers.
Proactive Attitude: You don’t wait for things to happen; you follow up until the job is done.
Willingness to Travel: Comfortable with local travel for client meetings and factory visits.
Tech Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and email for professional correspondence.
