Job Description – Sales Officer

Position: Sales Officer
Location: Guwahati, Assam
CTC: ₹22,000 – ₹26,000 per month
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience: 6 months –3 years in BFSI Sales

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and target-oriented Sales Officer to join our team in Guwahati. The candidate will be responsible for driving sales, developing new customers, managing existing accounts, and achieving monthly sales targets within the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for the assigned territory.

• Identify and develop new customers, dealers, distributors, and retail outlets.

• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and ensure repeat business.

• Conduct regular market visits to identify new sales opportunities.

• Generate leads and convert them into customers.

• Explain products/services to customers and effectively communicate their benefits.

• Follow up on enquiries, quotations, orders, and payments.

• Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.

• Maintain daily sales reports, customer records, and visit reports.

• Coordinate with internal teams for order processing and customer support.

• Ensure timely collection of outstanding payments, where applicable.

• Achieve assigned KPIs and contribute to overall business growth.

Candidate Requirements

• Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in Sales or Marketing will be an advantage.

• 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, FMCG, retail, distribution, or a related field.

• Good communication and negotiation skills.

• Strong customer-handling and relationship-building abilities.

• Target-oriented, self-motivated, and willing to travel within the assigned territory.

• Basic knowledge of MS Office/Google Sheets and sales reporting.

• Knowledge of the Guwahati/local market will be an added advantage.

• Candidates with a valid two-wheeler and driving licence will be preferred.

Compensation

CTC: ₹22,000 – ₹26,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability.

Additional incentives/benefits may be provided based on company policy and performance.
