Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager – Recovery is responsible for supervising and executing recovery efforts for delinquent accounts. The role involves coordinating with field teams, handling escalations, implementing recovery strategies, and ensuring adherence to company policies and legal guidelines. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, field recovery experience, and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Recovery Manager in implementing and monitoring recovery strategies for overdue accounts.
Manage field recovery teams or agencies and ensure performance targets are met.
Regularly follow up on delinquent accounts to ensure timely payments or settlements.
Maintain and update records of recovery actions taken, payment commitments, and customer interactions.
Coordinate with legal teams for initiating recovery through legal channels (e.g., arbitration, court cases, repossession).
Conduct skip tracing and asset verification when necessary.
Prepare reports on recovery progress, portfolio status, and team performance.
Support in training new recovery agents and setting daily/weekly field plans.
Handle customer escalations with professionalism and empathy.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, RBI guidelines (if applicable), and other regulatory frameworks.
Qualifications:
Graduation 2+ years of experience in recovery, collections, or credit control (preferably in BFSI or NBFC).
Familiarity with recovery tools, field investigation techniques, and legal procedures.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office, CRM, and loan management software.
Preferred Skills:
Experience managing field agents or third-party recovery agencies.
High level of integrity and professional conduct.
Ability to work under pressure and meet recovery targets.
Good communication skills in local language(s) and English.
Willingness to travel as needed.
