Position Overview
Chirag Apparels is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Junior Fashion Designer & Production Coordinator to join our growing team. This hybrid role bridges the gap between creative design and technical execution. You will assist in developing design concepts while actively managing the production pipeline—ensuring that design intent translates perfectly into high-quality, finished garments on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for technical construction, excellent communication skills for vendor coordination, and the agility to solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
Key Responsibilities1. Design & Technical Development
Assist in creating design concepts, sketches, and digital technical packs (tech packs) for apparel lines.
Develop accurate specification sheets (spec sheets), including detailed measurement charts, construction details, and material bills.
Source fabrics, trims, and accessories based on design requirements and cost parameters.
2. Production Coordination & Management
Act as the primary liaison between the design team, sampling unit, and external production vendors.
Monitor daily production schedules to ensure manufacturing timelines and delivery deadlines are strictly met.
Track inventory levels of raw materials (fabric, threads, buttons, zippers) to prevent line delays.
Maintain accurate records of production costs, vendor invoices, and order quantities.
3. Quality Assurance & Fitting
Oversee the garment sampling process, ensuring initial prototypes match tech pack specifications.
Participate in fit sessions, note necessary adjustments, and communicate modifications clearly to master cutters and tailors.
Conduct final quality control (QC) checks on production runs to maintain strict apparel standards before shipment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, or a closely related field.
Experience: 0–2 years of experience in fashion design or garment manufacturing. (Prior internship experience in a production unit is highly valued).
Technical Proficiency:
Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CorelDRAW for digital sketching.
Proficiency in MS Excel (essential for tracking production matrices, costing, and inventory sheets).
Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of garment construction, pattern making, fabric types, and manufacturing workflows.
Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational habits, strong multitasking abilities, and clear verbal/written communication to handle both design critiques and vendor management.
What We Offer
A collaborative environment where you can see your creative ideas physically built from scratch.
Hands-on experience in end-to-end supply chain management and business operations.
Opportunities for career growth within design and production leadership.
