Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrician to join our Electrical Team. The candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning activities at various project sites. The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of electrical systems, be capable of working independently, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards.

This role requires frequent travel to project sites. Travel allowance will be provided by the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning work at project sites.

• Install and connect electrical equipment, cables, switches, sockets, distribution boards (DBs), panels, and other electrical components.

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, layouts, and single-line diagrams.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and rectify electrical faults efficiently.

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.

• Ensure proper cable routing, gland fitting, termination, dressing, and labeling.

• Inspect electrical connections, circuits, and equipment to ensure proper functioning.

• Operate electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers (Megger), and continuity testers.

• Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, technicians, and other site teams for timely completion of work.

• Guide and supervise Junior Electricians and Helpers during installation and maintenance activities.

• Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable quality standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations.

• Follow electrical safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices where applicable, and use appropriate PPE.

• Maintain tools, testing equipment, and materials in good working condition.

• Report daily work progress, electrical issues, material requirements, and completed activities to the Site Supervisor.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area after completion of work.

• Be willing to travel and work at various company project sites as required.

Required Skills

• Strong practical knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Good understanding of LT electrical systems, wiring practices, and electrical components.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.

• Proficiency in electrical testing and fault diagnosis.

• Hands-on experience with electrical tools and testing equipment.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Good leadership and team coordination skills.

• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and safe work practices.

• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• ITI (Electrician) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.

• Valid electrical license/certification will be an added advantage.

• Relevant hands-on experience in project site electrical work is mandatory.
