Job Description
Position: Electrical cum Mechanical Technician – Cosmetics & FMCG Food
Lines

Experience: 3–6 years (Cosmetics / Food FMCG mandatory)
Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical
Engineering
Job Purpose
To ensure uninterrupted, safe, and hygienic operation of cosmetics and FMCG
food production lines by executing preventive and breakdown maintenance of
electrical and mechanical systems while strictly adhering to GMP, food safety, and
hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical panels, motors, VFDs, HMIs, sensors,
encoders, and control circuits
Perform basic PLC troubleshooting at I/O level (Siemens / Allen Bradley
preferred)
Maintain pneumatic and electro-pneumatic systems including solenoid
valves, actuators, pressure switches
Ensure proper panel cleanliness, cable management, and IP-rated
enclosures
Follow LOTO and electrical safety procedures at all times
2. Mechanical Responsibilities
Preventive and breakdown maintenance of:
o Liquid, cream, paste & powder filling machines
o Bottle filling, capping, sealing, and labeling machines
o Tube filling & sealing machines (hot air / ultrasonic)
o Foil sealing / induction sealing machines
o Jar filling, weighing, and packaging machines
Maintain product-contact parts ensuring no contamination
Handle gearboxes, pumps (lobe, centrifugal), conveyors, chains, belts,
bearings
Perform machine changeovers, format part adjustments, and CIP-related
support
Lubrication using food-grade lubricants only
3. GMP, Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance
Strict adherence to GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 / ISO 22716
(Cosmetics GMP)
Ensure tools, spare parts, and work areas meet hygiene standards
Support line clearance, allergen control, and contamination prevention
Ensure maintenance activities do not compromise product quality or safety
4. Production & Line Support
Attend breakdowns promptly to minimize line stoppage and product loss
Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, and Engineering
Support trial runs, validation batches, and new product launches
Assist in installation and commissioning of new machines
5. Documentation & Audits
Maintain maintenance records, PM checklists, breakdown reports
Record spares usage and root cause analysis for major breakdowns
Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits
Follow SOPs, change control, and deviation procedures
Skills & Competencies
Hands-on experience in cosmetics or FMCG food manufacturing lines
Good understanding of hygienic design and product-contact safety
Ability to read electrical drawings and mechanical layouts
Knowledge of servo-driven filling systems is an advantage
Strong troubleshooting and teamwork skills
Willingness to work in shift-based operations
Preferred Exposure
Cosmetics lines: creams, lotions, shampoos, gels, toothpaste, ointments
FMCG food lines: sauces, syrups, beverages, oils, spreads
Equipment OEMs like: IMA, Bosch, Krones, Coesia,Pacmac,TGM,etc.
