Key responsibilities
Safe and timely transport: Drive commercial vehicles to transport goods or passengers to designated locations safely and on schedule.
Vehicle maintenance: Perform daily inspections, basic maintenance like checking fluids, and ensure the vehicle is clean and in good working order.
Logistics and planning: Plan efficient routes, assist with loading and unloading cargo, and collect delivery confirmations.
Record keeping: Maintain accurate daily logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
Compliance: Follow all traffic laws, company safety protocols, and regulations, such as hours of service rules.
Communication: Coordinate with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to resolve issues and report delays or problems.
Required qualifications
A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with any necessary endorsements.
A clean driving record and excellent safety record.
Experience driving commercial vehicles (specific years may vary by job).
Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety protocols.
Ability to read maps, use GPS, and operate electronic logging devices (ELDs).
Physical ability to handle the demands of the job, such as lifting or working in various weather conditions.
