Position: Ambulance Driver
Department: Emergency/Patient Transport
Reports To: Center Manager / Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Ambulance Driver is responsible for safely and promptly transporting patients to and from the diagnostic center, hospitals, clinics, and other designated locations. The driver must ensure patient safety, maintain the ambulance in good operating condition, and provide timely support during patient transfers.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the ambulance safely and responsibly while transporting patients.
Pick up and drop off patients from homes, hospitals, clinics, and other locations as instructed.
Assist patients, attendants, and medical staff during boarding and disembarking.
Follow all traffic rules, road-safety regulations, and emergency driving procedures.
Check the ambulance regularly for fuel, tires, lights, brakes, oxygen supply, stretcher, first-aid equipment, and other essential items.
Keep the ambulance clean, sanitized, and ready for use at all times.
Maintain daily records of ambulance trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
Coordinate with the reception/operations team regarding patient pickup and drop-off schedules.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance requirements immediately to the concerned supervisor.
Support medical staff during patient transfers when required.
Maintain confidentiality and treat patients and their attendants with courtesy and respect.
Perform other duties related to ambulance and patient transportation as assigned.
