Job Summary:
The Ambulance Driver is responsible for safely transporting patients, medical personnel, and equipment to and from healthcare facilities, emergencies, and other designated locations. The role requires adherence to traffic laws, safety protocols, and patient care standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate the ambulance during emergency and non-emergency calls.
Transport patients to hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare facilities as needed.
Assist paramedics, EMTs, or medical staff in loading and unloading patients.
Ensure the ambulance is fully stocked with medical supplies, fuel, and equipment.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues immediately.
Maintain accurate logs of trips, patient information, and vehicle maintenance.
Follow all safety protocols, including infection control procedures.
Respond promptly to emergency calls, maintaining calm and professionalism.
Communicate effectively with medical staff, dispatchers, and patients’ families.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Previous experience driving ambulances or emergency vehicles preferred.
Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures (certification desirable).
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Physical ability to lift and assist patients when necessary.
