The Ethiopian Cultural Centre celebrates heritage, tradition, and global cultural exchange. We host diverse events, performances, and culinary experiences. As part of our cultural fusion initiative, we are seeking a highly skilled Indian Head Chef to lead and elevate our Indian cuisine offerings.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Indian Head Chef to oversee all aspects of Indian culinary operations. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in regional Indian cuisines, menu development, kitchen management, and team leadership. You will collaborate closely with our cultural and hospitality teams to create authentic, high-quality dishes that complement the Centre’s multicultural environment.
Plan, design, and execute authentic Indian menus, including à la carte, buffet, event-specific, and contemporary fusion options.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and food safety.
Train, supervise, and mentor junior kitchen staff.
Manage inventory, sourcing of authentic Indian spices/ingredients, and cost control.
Collaborate with event managers to develop customized menus for cultural programs, festivals, and special events.
Maintain hygiene and safety standards according to HACCP and local regulations.
Innovate and introduce seasonal or festival-themed Indian dishes.
Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen teams and service staff.
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Head Chef or Senior Chef specializing in Indian cuisine.
Expertise in North Indian and South Indian dishes; experience with regional specialties is a plus.
Strong leadership, communication, and kitchen management skills.
Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to Ethiopian culinary expectations.
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and kitchen cost management.
