Job Description – Content Writer cum Proofreader

Job Type: Full-Time

Experience Required: 2–5 Years

Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month

Office Timing: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

over time- 5.30PM- 8:00PM (it's paid but compulsory)

About the Role

Editone International Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Content Writer cum Proofreader with a strong command of language, grammar, and academic content.

The candidate will be responsible for content writing, editing, and proofreading educational books and learning material from Nursery to Class 8 across all subjects. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in educational publishing and should be capable of identifying grammatical, spelling, factual, formatting, and content-related errors.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, review, and proofread educational content for Nursery to Class 8.

• Work on content across all school subjects, including English, Hindi, Mathematics, EVS, Science, Social Studies, General Knowledge, Moral Science, etc.

• Check and correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and language flow.

• Ensure age-appropriate vocabulary, explanations, instructions, questions, and activities.

• Verify content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and readability.

• Check chapters, worksheets, exercises, answer keys, captions, headings, tables, and other educational material.

• Identify and correct factual, conceptual, typographical, and formatting errors.

• Maintain consistency in terminology, writing style, capitalization, punctuation, and formatting throughout the book.

• Review content after corrections to ensure that all changes have been implemented accurately.

• Coordinate with editors, designers, subject experts, and other team members wherever required.

• Handle multiple books/projects while meeting assigned deadlines.

Required Skills

• Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and written communication.

• Strong proofreading and editing skills.

• Good understanding of school-level educational content from Nursery to Class 8.

• Ability to identify grammatical as well as conceptual/content errors.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to work accurately under deadlines.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Basic knowledge of MS Word and document editing tools.

• Previous experience in an educational publishing house/content development company will be preferred.

Salary

₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month, depending on experience, skills, and interview performance.

Working Hours

Regular Office Timing: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Overtime: 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Overtime is paid and compulsory
