Job Summary: A restaurant cashier is responsible for handling customer payments, processing orders, maintaining accurate cash records, and providing friendly customer service. The cashier helps ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers politely and provide excellent customer service.

• Take customer orders and enter them accurately into the Point of Sale (POS) system.

• Receive cash, credit/debit card, and digital payments.

• Issue receipts and provide the correct change to customers.

• Handle billing, invoices, and payment transactions accurately.

• Maintain the cash register and ensure the cash drawer balances at the end of each shift.

• Coordinate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure orders are processed correctly.

• Answer customer questions about menu items, prices, and promotions.

• Handle customer complaints professionally and refer complex issues to the supervisor.

• Keep the cashier counter and surrounding area clean and organized.

• Follow restaurant policies, hygiene standards, and cash-handling procedures.

• Prepare daily sales reports and submit cash collections to the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Basic mathematical and computer skills.

• Knowledge of POS systems and billing procedures.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Honesty, accuracy, and attention to detail.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

• Previous cashier or restaurant experience is an advantage.
