Job Summary
The Café Cashier is responsible for handling billing operations, customer transactions, and front counter service efficiently while ensuring a positive customer experience. The role includes maintaining cash accuracy, coordinating with kitchen/service staff, and supporting smooth day-to-day café operations.
Key Responsibilities
Billing & Cash Handling
Operate POS (Point of Sale) system accurately.
Process cash, UPI, card, and digital payments.
Generate bills/invoices for customer orders.
Maintain proper cash balance during shift operations.
Handle refunds, discounts, and void transactions as per company policy.
Prepare daily cash closing reports and submit to reporting manager.
Customer Service
Greet customers professionally and assist with orders.
Resolve basic customer queries regarding menu items, pricing, and offers.
Maintain polite and professional communication with customers.
Ensure quick and efficient billing service during rush hours.
Operational Support
Coordinate with barista/kitchen staff for smooth order flow.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene at billing counter area.
Ensure availability of billing stationery, receipt rolls, and packaging materials.
Support café operations during peak business hours.
Compliance & Records
Follow company SOPs and cash handling procedures.
Maintain transaction records accurately.
Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and operational standards.
Required Skills
Basic computer and POS handling knowledge.
Good communication and customer handling skills.
Numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work in rotational shifts and weekends.
Basic knowledge of digital payment methods.
